Nurturing Tech Talent – STEM Internship Scheme 1/2

Eligibility

  • Participating institutions:UGC-funded local tertiary institutions, including campuses in the Greater Bay Area, the five government-funded R&D centres and the Hong Kong Productivity Council may join. Their contacts are listed under Enquiries. Each institution may add its own rules and arrangements.
  • Students:Full-time local and non-local undergraduates and postgraduates on eligible STEM programmes at a participating university, including its Greater Bay Area campus, may join. Non-local students may intern only in Hong Kong and must keep to their visa conditions. Internships arranged by an R&D centre or the Hong Kong Productivity Council are also open to full-time STEM students at local and non-local universities. A student funded under this scheme cannot at the same time receive another HKSAR internship allowance.
  • Employers:Companies and organisations are welcome, under each university’s arrangements, to offer I&T internships and to hire students on the scheme. Employers should give suitable guidance. They may pay extra above the allowance. They cannot obtain other HKSAR funding merely because they hire a student on this scheme.
